Yes — if you don't install an available update manually within about a day, your Aqua One will automatically take care of it for you. The device is designed to stay up to date without requiring constant attention from you or your child.
How does automatic updating work?
When an update is available, your child will see a notification prompting them to install it. If the update isn't manually installed within approximately 24 hours, the Aqua One will automatically begin downloading and installing it in the background — typically overnight when the device is plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi.
What conditions are needed for automatic updates?
For automatic updates to work smoothly, the Aqua One should be:
Connected to a secure Wi-Fi network — updates require a stable internet connection and are not recommended over mobile data.
Plugged in or sufficiently charged — installing an update on a low battery can interrupt the process.
Have enough storage available — we recommend keeping at least 10–15 GB of free storage on the device so updates have room to install.
Will monitoring continue during an update?
During the update installation and restart, there may be a brief period where monitoring is paused. This is normal and typically only lasts for the duration of the restart. Monitoring resumes automatically once the update is complete and the device is back online.
