First, don't panic. Updates can occasionally hit a bump, but the fix is usually simple. If the update fails, a screen should pop up on your device showing the reason it didn't go through, or giving you the option to reach out to us for support.
Here is what to try first:
Make sure your device has enough storage. We recommend having 15 GB free before installing a new update. A full phone can block the update from going through.
Give your device a quick restart and try installing the update again. A fresh start can work wonders.
Check your internet connection. No signal or a weak signal means no update.

The good news: Most of the time, you will be back on track in just a few taps.
Should I update on Wi-Fi or mobile data?
Always update on a secure, strong Wi-Fi connection. Updating over mobile data is not recommended — large update files can time out or fail on a weak cellular connection, and may consume a significant portion of your data allowance.
What if the device gets stuck during the update?
If the device appears frozen during installation for more than 30 minutes, hold the Power and Volume Up buttons to restart, then check Settings > System > System Updates to resume.
